The GATOR uses the same electronics as the GATOR Plus+ but is intended for embedded applications. It is simply a GATOR Plus+ but without the protective enclosure. The GATOR is perfect for experimenting with robotics since it can be powered by batteries, has fully protected inputs and outputs, and is small enough to fit in many chassis.
Access to all of the I/O pins is provided by 15-pin header pads on the left and right side of the board, with standard 0.1” centers. In addition, a +5V supply (up to 100mA) is available from two of these pins so that the embedded system can be powered from the GATOR. Four mounting holes in the board corners simplify attachment to a supporting platform or second circuit board.
